I put in my 60 day notice to my apartment complex that I will be abandoning ship. I brought it down to the office at about noon and then promptly got a phone call at about 4 pm stating that they going to be showing my apartment today at 3 pm. I have never had my apartment shown to people while I still lived in it. I guess they do things different in Minnesota...or maybe I have just been lucky.
I know that I probably shouldn't care about the condition of my apartment. It is not as if I am the one who is trying to fill the vacancy. There is just this crazy need to have everything look fabulous and not to look like a slob. The realization hit, that I was not going to just be able to put my collection of assorted items that I don't know what to do with in the closet. These people are actually going to be looking in my closets. Aaahhhh! I need to make all my closets look pristine. Now it doesn't take much effort to get my the easily visual part of my living space clean. All of the kitchen cupboards always look great. It is the linen closet and the front hall closet....the closets that I am throwing things in and out of everyday. So, I pulled everything out of them. I wiped then down and put things back in, while at the same time packed some items that I won't be using anytime soon into boxes (and maybe my hiking backpack and luggage that I hadn't put into storage, but that is just between you and me).
Now it feels like it will be "easy, breezy" to pack all of my stuff up and move it to it's new home. I just wish it was tomorrow. I am terrible at the waiting game. When I get something in my head I want to do it now!!!
