Church Basement

This past week I went to a great play. Thanks to some of my friends here in Minnesota. Who knew that the Lutherans had so much to laugh about. Now I do. I had such a great time! I think that I will be heading back to find out what happens to these ladies at Christmas time. Thanks Katie and Shelli.

Awkward

Awkward. Even the spelling of the word is a little off.

This weekend I went to the Minnesota YSA activity and that is what I felt the whole time. Many individuals may laugh at the movie the "Singles Ward," but I definitely relate to parts of the movie. Especially the dance scene...imagine a whole weekend of people attempting to mingle. The whole idea that they are trying to find an eternal companion just puts enough pressure that many are completely unable to make decent conversation. Then to make us mingle even more they put us on a 4 hour boat ride so that there will be nothing to do except mingle. These leaders are smart and conspire. I saw a few possible romances popping up here and there, but mostly had a lot of conversations that did not flow very well. The best advice I got this weekend was to not tell people exactly what I do. It is conversation stopper, so now I just tell them that I work with kids.

I was able to here Sister Beck speak which was cool. Even had a little breakfast with her. I kept looking at her and thinking that my sister Ann would wear pearls just like hers. I should get myself a set they were very sophisticated.

Meet Me in San Francisco

Last weekend I got to visit my sister in San Ramon, CA for the blessing of her baby Zachary. It was nice to see a few other members of my family at the same time. Unfortunately it was too foggy to get a great picture of the Golden Gate Bridge from the other side, but it still looks magical.

A view off of Pier 39 while eating lunch with my family and getting a sunburn.
The parents...just chilling!
Caitlyn, what a hottie!
Maren. Thrilled about the wind.
John spitting of the Golden Gate Bridge. If you look closely you can see the little dot of white spit. You could see it go all the way to the bottom. It is amazing that you can also hear it hit the bottom of the bridge. We all tried.
Dad Passey thinking about something important, like how there are too many people in California.
Cute Zachary with his parents on the big day. He was totally thrilled to be there with us all. We loved spending time with him though. He is ultra adorable and is a cuddly little guy, but definitely has an opinion about things.
Check out how tall John is. Amazing.
The sisters.

I had a great time and was sad to leave the sunshine. It was a short vacation, but much needed.

Grass

This morning it smells wonderful outside. I was looking out the kitchen window when I had a sudden realization. They never cut the grass here. How weird? I love the smell of fresh cut grass. Perhaps I will have to go home just to cut my parents grass. For now I will just enjoy the freedom of not having to mow the lawn daily.

Little pig, little pig...

While in Seattle for my brothers wedding I got to stay at this beautiful house of a family in the ward of the bride. It is a beautiful house...looks like it belongs in a magazine. I was totally excited when I awoke at 5 am to a big in the yard. It turns out there were really two pigs. Who woulda thunk?

My early morning surprise!
