Well, I am supposed to be doing homework, so of course here I am writing a blog.
Over the past couple of weeks I have gotten several comments about looking nice at work. Today, I received multiple comments, perhaps it was the amazing necklace...the long black one that made the black dress wedding dress, funeral worthy in December. Recently, I have been telling everyone at work that it is because I need to be ready just in case there is some guy at work who I need to marry. They all laugh at me and then I tell them about my mothers encouragement about looking good for work just in case some date ready material comes into the hospital. It seems exceptionally funny when I work mainly with newborn babies. Hhhmmmmm, how would that work?
Me: Hello, you have a cute baby.
Him: Why yes.
Me: So are you and the mother still together?
Him: No, she just died. OR No, we just broke up and we have this baby together. Would you like to have this sort of relationship too? OR Yes we are, so sorry.
Anyway it goes....awkward.
All of the nurses on the floor are now out looking for potential dates for me. They have been pointing out all of the residents, interpreters, housekeeping personnel, and cooks who may have potential.
Don't worry Ann, I told them all to find out if they have an "outie" belly button (or umbilical hernia in the medical profession). I have heard that specimens with an outie are the most worthy.
One of my patients parents laughed so hard when I discussed with them my mothers ideal boyfriend or "Eternal Companion" in the ER. Mom described a beautiful story about a guy bringing in his dying or ill grandmother. Then he will be holding his grandmothers hand, while reading the BOM. What a lovely scene.
My heart just flutters when I think about it. Pure bliss is in my future if my mom has anything to do with it.. Which we all know that it isn't father who knows best, right?

Mobile, AL
Most you know that recently I spent some more time in Mobile, AL. It was a wonderful time, going to school. While I was there I seriously considered being a full-time student and quitting my job. Alas, I must make money somehow.
I did not have a lot of time for sightseeing because I was in class from 8am-5pm every day. I spent my lunches and evenings in the local coffee shop, using the WiFi to work on school assignments. On my final evening I went on a walk and these are some of the photos that I took. The downtown park.
The required self portrait.
A very wide tree that I found intriguing.
I had to eat fried green tomatoes while I was in the south. These were so tasty even though in the photo it looks like dog food. The sauce on the top is amazing....hhhmmmm. I am salivating right now.

Wintzell's is covered with hand written signs, but I really enjoyed this one.
A look down the typical street.
Got to love the buildings in the south...iron rod.

Sneak Peak
This is just a sneak peak at my time in Mobile, AL. I was able to combine some of my favorite activities on my last night there, taking pictures of run down buildings and walking. Since may of the areas in downtown Mobile are sketchy I had to be pretty careful that I did not look to touristy or lost.

NASCAR
Fast cars were fun, although the cars that I chose typically lost. Natalie is the one that you should take to the tracks if you are going to place bets.

The Minnesota Duty
To live in the state of Minnesota it is required that one attends the Minnesota State Fair...so I followed state requirements. Poor photo quality, but here is the local beaver welcoming me to the excitement. His facial expressions don't even describe the thrilling and overwhelming aura that is exuded throughout the fair.
Love the sales.
Agriculture was one of Natalies favorites. The corn was cool to look at all lined up.
I did not get to witness last years talk of the fair, Farah Fawcett immortalized in beans and grains. This year I was really most impressed by American Gothic. I might need to find this person to do a whole family portrait.
Vintage seed bags, they were awesome to look at.
