The Chamber of Secrets

Now I am fully aware the the Chamber of Secrets was in the plumbing of Hogwarts, but the ventilation that was put in my home reminds me of a snake going throughout my house.  I may be warmer and cooler because of it, but it was a sacrifice on beauty right now.  It has also made two of my closets practically obsolete.  The above closet was pretty small to begin with, so now I am attempting to figure out what to do to make it look better.

This is what the top of that lovely closet looks like.  HHhhhmm.

The basement was already a bunch of plumbing and piping so there was not a very big change in its beauty.

This is the biggest "eye sore."  It was NOT supposed to come this far out.  You can't tell from this angle, but it comes out as far as the middle of the wood on the door frame.  Covering this up is going to require creativity.

This is where is was supposed to go, but they couldn't get through the ceiling for some reason.  They called me after they had done the work, so I was a bit horrified when I came home from work to my dilemma.  I just continue to contemplate while I work on other projects.

My coat closet has been taken over by venting. You can see the venting starting in the middle of the closet and then going over to the wall.  Perhaps a box of some sort should be built over the bottom.  Currently, the closet is filled with kitchen stuff....that is because the kitchen is getting its remodel these next two weeks.

Finally, a Bruce Update

After a week of screaming and running around like I little girl, I evacuated Bruce from my house.  Many of you heard about it first on Facebook, but here is Bruce and the tools used for removal.  Pyrex and USPS, I thank you from the bottom of my heart.  Bruce was freaking out the entire time he was in the bowl, so I was worried he would attack me when I set him down.  He was good though.  He didn't move for about 20 minutes.....more afraid than his captor.  I am so glad this fiasco is over....wwhheeww.

Is My House in Gotham City?

Recently I have had a couple of visitors in my home and the they really freak me out.  The only thing that I remember running from in my life, were dogs until I definitely taller than they were.  Since then, nature and I have been on good terms.  I finally found something that freaks me out.  About a week ago at 10:30 at night I had a little visitor in my room.  He was flying like crazy around my room.  I was not certain if it was a bat or a bird. I really wasn't sure until a few days later (I had a few days without a visit). On Thursday morning at 5:30 I was awoken my a bad bat.  It freaked me out as the thing went full speed from wall to wall.  My mom has named him "Bruce." After I got a new roof, I thought that I might not see the little guy.  I was wrong.  I came home from work at 9:30 pm and found two bats.  One flying around the front room, dive bombing me, and another I could see hanging over the front door. I can tell you that I ran right out the door.
Needless to say, I slept at someone else's house.  I had the pest control at my house the next day.  They told me it might take another night to be bat free.  It was true.  Once again, I had a bat going crazy in my house, so I had another night on someone else's floor.  Bruce had me in tears and freaking out once again.  It's true...I have a fear of crazy, dive bombing bats who could be carrying rabies.  I am praying I don't see Bruce again, or his friend Robin.

Food Holidays August

Food Holidays August

This is for my sister Ann, who is into these kinds of things. Inspiration for something different every day. I think I am more than willing to go out and get some frozen custard tonight to Celebrate National Frozen Custard Day.

The Upstairs Bathroom Sink

Remember this?
Well, today it turned into this.  While Caitlyn was visiting we decided that I would fork out the money and get a granite counter top.  I have had the sink and the faucet hanging out here in the house for months.  Today the counter was attached.  The sink and the faucet are just placed on there.  There is no running water yet, but I think it looks rather nice.  Although, I am going to have to straighten out the crooked door.
Above is a picture of the tile that I am planning to use behind the sink, as a back-splash. I am excited for the bathroom project to be completed.
